The 4,000-horsepower SD70, the final locomotive to utilize Electro-Motives long-standard Spartan Cab design, is ready for Train Simulator service dressed in Canadian Nationals flashy black, red, and white livery. The EMD SD70 family of locomotives was introduced in 1992. Along with its hefty 4,000 horses derived from Electro-Motives 16-cylinder 710G3B power plant, the SD70 was notable for its use of EMDs HTCR radial truck. By the time the SD70 series of locomotives was introduced, the North American cab design had become the standard for new locomotives (making the SD70M, in effect, the standard model). Seemingly, EMDs angular Spartan Cab design, which dated back to the GP35 of 1963, had reached the end of the line. But such was not the case, as four railroads ordering the SD70 type choose to specify the Spartan Cab design and these units would thus carry the straight SD70 designation. At final count, 122 Spartan Cab-equipped SD70s were constructed between 1993 and 1999.

Among the railroads buying the SD70 was the famed U. S. railroad Illinois Central, which purchased 40 units (IC road numbers 1000-1039) during the period 1995-1999. Originally dressed in ICs black and white livery, the SD70s became mainstays on the ICs Chicago-New Orleans main line. The year 1999 also marked Illinois Centrals integration into North American giant Canadian National, and soon the IC SD70s began appearing in CNs flashy livery with IC sub-lettering. Today, the majority of the SD70s purchased by Illinois Central continue to serve the CN and can be found operating throughout both the United States and Canada.
The Canadian National SD70, created by Dovetail Games third-party programme partner Travel by Train, is outfitted in CNs black, red, and white livery and is provided in standard and winter textures. The SD70 is an ideal addition to the Train Simulator stable and is appropriate for use on a number of North American Train simulator routes given that CN locomotives often serve in run-through service on other railroads. And the CN SD70 DLC includes a pair of scenarios for the Train Simulator Canadian National Peace River route (route available separately).

So I bought this on Humble Bundle and I liked it enough to search for a discount code for Train Sim World 2020 as well. So, obviously I really enjoy it. And I purchased additional DLC for this (hint: dovetail games has a weekly sale on their website, where they seem to offer 5 different dlc every week) The weekly sales are here ->
My thoughts after 20 hours or so: It is good for what it is. The graphics can seem a bit dated in 2020. However, it still looks good enough and some of the DLC looks really good. If you have to have awesome looking graphics, then maybe take a look at tsw2020.
I think of it as a train set that does not take up space in my house and does not have the cost associated with a physical set. If you use it like this you will really enjoy it. It is quite relaxing and I have been spending a lot of my free time driving trains all over the world.
There are some weird bugs sometimes, but I personally have not run. Into very many, for the most part the trains and routes work well. The one other downside is the tutorials do not explain everything in detail. However, on the steam page for each route or train there is a link to view the manual (not every single dlc has a manual, but most do, and the ones that dont are usually in a route manual or is covered in a different train manual). The manuals contain the information on signals and all the procedures for starting the trains and the keyboard/gamepad mappings. So all the information is out there, but I had to do a few searches to find out where to get the manuals.
All in all, if you think it is something you might enjoy and you can get with a bunch of doc on humble bundle for 12.00 then definitely go for it. If you are not sure, then spend a $1.00 (You still get a LOT).
I have over 450 games in my steam library, these train sims have grabbed my interested more than any of the other games I own.
